Pettifleur fired back at the troll by responding: "When did a pair of bras and knickers become uncool or unclassy?" She continued: "This post is to inspire everyone to eat clean and exercise as your body will thank you for it. The results you see in this photo is hard work and dedication. Sending you good vibes."
Despite her measured response, Berenger became increasingly more frustrated as more online trolls left more negative comments criticizing her racy attire, including one follower who asked: "How do you think your son feels?"
Firing back, Pettifleur wrote:"'I am sick of women like you. Tearing other women down shows your insecurities. This is my page, you are welcome to leave."
To another, Berenger snapped: "You don't like me? That's a shame. I'll pencil in some time to cry about it later. Right now, I am busy enjoying my life and I will be doing that all night."
Despite a few mean spirited comments, her Instagram post was generally met with high praise from Pettifleur's loyal fans.
"You are beautiful, I wish I had the drive you have to exercise," wrote a follower.
Another commented: "I think it's a display of a confident woman that is showing a feminine side to being happy with her body."
After leaving The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Pettifleur is preparing to return to the small screen in Channel 7's Hell's Kitchen.
