Ashley Darby: “I Am At A Very Transitional Phase Of My Life Right Now”

Ashley Darby is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Ashley Darby shares her thoughts on Season 2 finale episode and gives an update on her life and restaurant. Check it out!

Bravotv.com: What made you want to go to Karen’s party despite her hesitation to invite you? Tell us about that clash with Karen.

Ashley Darby There's no denying that we love to party! I would have had a serious case of fomo (fear of missing out) if everyone else got to see Karen's new digs and I didn't. Even still there were dangling question marks just waiting for answers. I would have been more than happy to share in Karen's joy of her new home if she were actually honest about the questionable circumstances. When she lashed out and called me an idiot, it was further proved that there's more to this unexpected move than a few Benjamins.

Bravotv.com: How has the restaurant been?

AD: Oz has really improved! It was quite a challenge opening my (Michael's resume is quite impressive) first business in front of America. Hiccups, as well as trial and error, are natural progressions with any new business. While we are constantly a work in progress, I am happy to say that we have made great improvements. We have a great bottomless brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as a great happy hour that's well-received by our community. We hired a new marketing director, Colleen, who has been integral in promoting our marketing efforts and getting Oz in the minds of everyone who lives in the DMV. Chef Brad is also constantly evolving our menus, and Eva keeps the creative cocktail and craft beer culture strong. Overall we are on the up and up with no end in sight.

Bravotv.com: What do you think of Karen’s new house – is she hiding something?

AD: Karen's house was, as she put it, "not my taste," but hey I don't have to live in it. Even with the glitz and glamour of the party, the house is too big and in desperate need of a makeover. The only thing I could think of for Karen moving to this house is her desire to have a better kitchen. I think she was tired of hoping that linoleum flooring will make a comeback.

Bravotv.com: How was the party? What did you think of that kiss? And Monique’s outfit?

AD: I think we can all agree that this was a major step up from Karen's other events. I actually enjoyed the belly dancers and the food was bomb! I could've done without the kiss, though - the visual of Ray inhaling Karen's face will forever be etched in my mind. All in all the event was a nice exhibition of love and dedication between a married couple, even if Monique came in with the expectation of doing a rain dance.

Bravotv.com: What’s next for Ashley?

AD: I am at a very transitional phase of my life right now. Oz is in a better place, thankfully, and I'm pursuing my love of fitness, yoga and meditation. Personally, things are still up in the air as Michael and I figure out if and how we can conjoin our two lives even though we are at different phases. So I'm just going to keep working hard, smiling big, and trying to stay happy!
