‘Rica Famosa Latina’ Season 5 Cast Officially Revealed!

This week, Estrella TV officially revealed the cast of the fifth season of Rica, Famosa, Latina. As we previously reported, Luzelba Mansour, Niurka Marcos and Sandra Vidal will be returning along with four new cast members Mimí Lazo, Ninette Rios, Patricia de Leon and Scarlet Ortiz.

The ladies were revealed during a recent Facebook Live chat were the ladies were revealed one-by-one as they were doing a photoshoot for the fifth season of the Spanish hit reality series.

So who are the new cast members?

Mimi Lazo is a veteran Venezuelan actress who has done major roles on film, television and theater. She is mostly known for her work in telenovelas.

Ninette Rios is a professional journalist who works for Univision's Despierta America morning talk show. She is known to interview the who's-who in the Latin entertainment. She is also known for being married to Regional Mexican singer Rogelio Martinez, however the two ended in divorce after he was caught having an affair with one of the professional dancers of Univision's Mira Quien Baila.

Patricia de Leon is a Panamanian actress. She is best known as her work an actress, model, television host and philanthropist. She has appeared in several Hollywood films such as Bad Ass, starring alongside Danny Trejo and Ron Perlman and Fighting for Freedom. She also has landed several television guest/recurring roles on shows such as The Ghost Whisper, Lincoln Heights and NCIS to name a few. She is a huge supporter of PETA and LGBTQ community.

Scarlet Ortiz is a Venezuelan actress who is known for her work in international telenovelas such a Rafaela, Secreto de Amor and most recently in Telemundo's La Fan to name a few. She is no stranger to reality television, she was a contestant in the first season of Mira Quien Baila (Univision's version of Dancing with the Stars) alongside Niurka Marcos and Rogelio Martinez, who was then married to Ninette Rios.

Unfortunately, this means that Andrea Garcia, Mayeli Rivera, Sissi Fleitas and Victoria del Rosal will not be returning to the series. Victoria made it clear via several Instagram stories that she was tired of the drama and wasn't returning, however she continues to work for Estrella TV as a television host for the network's entertainment show: En Vivo.

Mayeli Rivera quit the show because she and her husband Lupillo Rivera are filming their own reality show for Univision, which is set to premiere later this year. As for Sissi Fleitas, she revealed that she and the producers couldn't come to a financial agreement therefore they agreed to part ways. At the moment, the reason behind Andrea Garcia's exit is unknown to my knowledge.

In case you were living under a rock, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Joyce Giraud along with her husband Michael Ohoven created the Spanish hit reality show after exiting the Bravo hit show.

As you noticed, the show is inspired by the Real Housewives franchise - the only difference is that the show is in Spanish and the show airs weeknights (Monday through Thursdays), making each season over 30 episodes.

Giraud doesn't appear on the show - she and her hubby are the creators and her hubby is the executive producer of the successful Spanish hit reality series. Rica, Famosa, Latina translates to Rich, Famous, Latina!

The show focuses on the lives of successful and famous Latin women living in Los Angeles, where the glamour and the drama collide.

Season 1 - 4 are available to view via streaming service Hulu!

Rica Famosa Latina is set to return in September on Estrella TV.
