“It just takes time,” attorney Andrew Brettler told Page Six. “Time heals all wounds.”
The former Bravo reality star and Cantin were met by a pair of masked thieves when they walked into their Holmdel, NJ, home on May 13, police said. One intruder repeatedly struck Cantin with a baseball bat while another hit Manzo a number of times.
The crooks bound the couple together and then made off with an undetermined amount of jewelry and money, according to authorities.
Despite Dina's estranged relationship with some of her family members, her sister Caroline Manzo and brother Chris Laurita reacted to the shocking news and seek justice over her unfortunate situation.
"I hope the police get to the bottom of this and whoever is responsible for this gets what's coming to them," Caroline Manzo said in a statement to E! News. Meanwhile, Chris Laurita, also told E! News that he spoke to Dina two days after the incident. "She is obviously shaken by the whole thing. She's back in California now and seems to be OK," he said. "It's unfortunate what happened. Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it."
Caroline's husband Albert Manzo also reacted to the news, calling the incident "so tragic." “Everyone is shocked by the sheer horror of it,” he told PEOPLE. “I am glad they are well enough to fly back.”
Millionaire businessman Cantin, who suffered a broken nose, and Manzo were both treated at a New Jersey hospital and released.
The couple has since returned to their Malibu, California home where they continue to heal from injuries sustained from the invasion.
