"Get the skinny bitches ready Australia, you’re going to need a drink or two…
I’m Victoria Rees, I live in Bondi Beach and I’m one of The Real Housewives of Sydney.
I signed on knowing I had my gorgeous friend Krissy Marsh with me on this crazy ride. I thought it would be great fun to do it together an unbelievable experience.
I’ve known Krissy for years, our boys started school together in kindergarden and we have been firm friends ever since. When the Marsh’s moved to Shanghai Austin & I went and stayed with them and had the most amazing holiday. Krissy & her family showed us Shanghai like no one else could and we went to Beiging and walked the Great Wall of China. I just adore Krissy her amazing energy and her enormous divine family.
Krissy invited me to lunch at the Coogee Pavilion to meet Nicole . I was really looking forward to meeting Nicole, I felt like I knew her as Krissy had spoken about her so often and we had lots of mutual friends.
It’s hard meeting 5 women all at once and everyone had something they wanted to say. As for meeting Athena and Lisa it was a bit of a shock, they just came at you and were very in your face right from the beginning.
I was quite shocked at what Athena and Lisa had to say to the other women especially Krissy, it was like they had decided they were going to attack Krissy before they even got there. I think I just stood there with my mouth open at first! I’ve never come across women like that before.
I really didn’t get to talk much to Matty, Nicole or Melissa at the party, it was all about Athena and Lisa being incredibly nasty and rude. I felt sorry for Nicole that this had all unfolded at her welcome home party.
I had heard of Athena before, when I signed on for the show I asked my friends who they knew out of the other 5 housewives and a few people had heard about Athena. They all basically said the same thing, “she’s crazy”. When Nicole asked me about her I said “I heard she Jatz crackers” – I thought everyone would know knows Jatz Crackers is an Australian expression for crazy, I was actually surprised that no one knew what it meant, it’s not a nasty expression, it’s funny.
I think Athena is a little bit paranoid and she didn’t quite understand what it meant so she took it to a whole other level.
Back to Nicole’s event – The viewer’s only saw about 10 minutes of the craziness of that night, it went on for hours. Athena was just attacking Krissy for no reason and she didn’t even know her. I think perhaps Athena felt intimated by Krissy and that was her only defence mechanism to deal with it. Krissy’s my girl and I’m always going to have her back. I had really and truly just had enough of Athena and wanted to get the hell out of there.
I was standing there thinking to myself for about half an hour how I’d love to throw that bloody ugly cape / fishing net into the harbour and shut her up. So I did, I never done anything like that before in my life but there is something about Athena she just pushes your buttons, she’s very annoying."
