Eileen Davidson Reveals She Is Working On Film Adaptation Of Dial Emmy For Murder!

Eileen Davidson may be best known for being a soap opera diva, playing iconic roles such as Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless and winning a Daytime Emmy for her portrayal of Kristen DiMera on Days of Our Lives in 2014. But the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been just as busy outside of soaps over the past three decades.

She has starred in primetime series like Broken Badges and has wowed audiences on the big screen in movies like Eternity, opposite Jon Voight and Armand Assante. "I've actually bounced back-and-forth. I haven't been on Y&R for 35 years straight. People think that, but I haven't," Eileen recently told The Daily Dish. "And when I was on Y&R the first time, I did a couple movies during that time. I did a TV series, a nighttime series. I've done a lot of different shows. I did a small part in a movie I shot in Alabama a couple of years ago. I've done student films. I kept myself busy doing other things, too."

Something else that Eileen has kept busy with over the past decade has been writing the Soap Opera Mystery series of novels, and she's about to turn one of those books, Dial Emmy for Murder, into a film. "I wrote these books 10 years ago, one every year for a few years, and one of them has been optioned," Eileen shared. "And I'm in the middle of writing a second draft for it, and hopefully we're gonna be filming it this summer. So I'll be starring in that, co-writing it, exec producing, and that should be fun."

Expect the upcoming movie to be full of delicious drama, which is something Eileen knows a thing or two about. "They're written around the soap opera industry, and the protagonist is basically my character. She loves mysteries, and so she gets involved in trying to solve these murders," Eileen said. "So you find her always in trouble when she's always trying to figure things out, and all these people keep dying in these very dramatic ways, so it's gonna be fun."
