Andy Cohen Says The New Season Of ‘The Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Is ‘Amazing’

Andy Cohen is taking to Twitter to tease fans about the upcoming second season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. The Real Housewives executive producer and Watch What Happens Live host claimed that "the new season of RHOP is so amazing."

On Thursday, December 8, Andy retweeted a photo of himself with two of the show’s cast members, Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant. Andy commented that it was a treat to see Robyn and Gizelle and that the new season is “so amazing.”

On Tuesday, the Washington Post threw into question whether a second season was actually going to air. According to the article, the women began filming the second season in April and finished in late summer. The cast members apparently wanted the show to follow The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the ninth season of which premiered in November, as it did or its first season.

Bravo, however, reportedly decided to push back Potomac’s premiere date because it wants to find out if the show can stand on its own without Atlanta’s help. A source told the website that the Potomac housewives are now worried about the fate of their show.

“The ladies are getting very nervous. They’re all feeling major anxiety and fearful that their show may not air. It’s definitely holding on by a string… For right now, the ladies are on pins and needles.”

Yet a Bravo spokesperson gave assurance that viewers will indeed see a second season. The spokesperson also revealed that the second season, described as “great,” will premiere sometime in 2017, reports Inquisitr.

“It was our highest rated freshman series in three years,” said a Bravo spokesperson. “The Potomac ladies are coming back in 2017 and fans have every reason to be excited for a great season.”

The new season of RHOP will return with a cast shake up. Back in June, Katie Rost took to Twitter to announce that she was not returning to the show's second season because she couldn't make her life "exciting enough"

Meanwhile, Ashley Darby, Charrisse Jackson Jordan, Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger and Robyn Dixon will be returning.

The series premiere of RHOP delivered record ratings, making it the highest-rated series premiere of “The Real Housewives” franchise.

According to NBC Universal, “The Real Housewives of Potomac” delivered over 2.5 million total viewers, 1.5 million P18-49 and over 1.4 million P25-54, making it the highest-rated series premiere of “The Real Housewives” franchise among all key demos.

The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 2 is set to premiere sometime in 2017.
