Is Bethenny Frankel’s Ex Jason Hoppy Facing Financial Problems?

Jason Hoppy‘s four-year divorce battle with Bethenny Frankel must have left him strapped for cash! It's been reported that Hoppy took out a $705 loan against his New York Apartment just one month before finalizing his divorce to the Real Housewives of New York City star.

According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Hoppy signed loan documents on June 17 with GuardHill Financial Corp for the apartment he bought in 2008 for $863,500. He agreed to pay $3,264.96 a month on the loan at the interest rate of 3.75%.

The home has an estimated value of $1.7 million dollars. The apartment boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private balcony, high ceilings, a garden and a full-time doorman.

Frankel reached a divorce settlement with her ex-husbandHoppy in July after battling over their property and custody of their 6-year-old daughter Bryn. Although a custody agreement was settled in 2014, they continued to fight over the division of their property and assets.

Hoppy was awarded $12k a month in temporary support at one point, but the decision was overturned earlier this year.

Frankel and Hoppy shared the $5 million apartment they lived in during their marriage. The Skinnygirl mogul called their experience living in the apartment “brutal” because he would allegedly leave negative media clippings about her around the apartment, reports Radar.

When the divorce was finalized, Frankel’s lawyer said, “Out of respect for her privacy and the well-being of her daughter, Bethenny is declining to comment. We can confirm that the divorce has been resolved. Our client is ecstatic that this long chapter is over, and she is looking forward to moving on with her life,” while an attorney for Hoppy stated, “Jason is thrilled that this chapter of his life is over; he is extremely pleased with the settlement that was reached. Jason looks forward to the future and enjoying that time privately with family, friends and most important to him, his daughter.”

Frankel and Hoppy married in 2010 and announced their separation after only three years of marriage.
