The Oscar winner called out Berenger, who was among the guests at the event, over the ugly cat fights in the reality show.
Susan told the crowd of 150 guests it was important that women supported one another.
"That's why I hate those reality shows, the wives of wherever, because they thrive on provoking fights," she said, according to Sydney Morning Herald.
When she was told that a Real Housewives star was in the room, Susan asked Pettifleur: "Why can't you be like the Gandhi of reality shows?"
Pettifluer stood her ground and said producers had told her the bigger the fight the better the ratings, according to KIIS FM entertainment reporter John Caldwell.
Susan said: "I find that very concerning because it isn't as dramatic to get along."
How did Pettifluer react to Susan's comments? Looks like there are not hard feelings as the reality star shared a tweet and a photo posing next to Sarandon via social media.
