Teresa Giudice Gives Advice To The Real Housewives Of Auckland: “You're Scrutinized For Everything — It’s A Blessing And A Curse”

New Zealand's very own The Real Housewives of Auckland will be making their big debut next month on Bravo New Zealand, and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is giving the Kiwi Housewives some real advice on how to deal with public scrutiny.

Giudice thinks that the ladies of RHOAKL should "seriously think about" what they're signing themselves up for. The mother-of-four, who recently completed an 11-month stint in prison for bankruptcy fraud, admits she "wouldn't do reality television again" knowing what she does now.

"Believe it or not, but I was really naive when I signed up to do this," Giudice told Stuff. "You're scrutinized, for everything. Absolutely everything, you get punished for everything you do. But in many ways, it's a blessing and a curse."

"I didn't know anyone in TV. But now they're like family. And I'm in it -  I'm in it for the long run, it's a part of me now. But seriously, if you're doing it, ignore the people hiding behind their keyboards, writing nasty things about you. Remember to dot your Is and cross your Ts," she said.

Giudice said the online hate and endless public scrutiny "is a lot to deal with" however credits the show for presenting her with additional opportunities, including a string of cookbooks and business opportunities.

Back in May, Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer gave the Kiwi Housewives some much needed advice when the cast was revealed during the launch on Bravo NZ.

"Be true to you," said Singer. "The camera doesn't lie, if you pull any shenanigans that aren't true, it will show up. Be who you are and express your true feelings."

The #RHOAKL cast consists of six women: Angela Stone, Ann Batley-Burton, Gilda Kirkpatrick, Julia Sloane, Louise Wallace and Michelle Blanchard.

The Real Housewives of Auckland premieres this August on Bravo New Zealand.
