Luann de Lesseps: “Sonja’s Critique Of My Ring Was Tasteless, And It Shows That She’s Holding A Grudge About My Engagement”

Luann de Lesseps is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City. Luann thinks that although Sonja is saying she's not jealous, her body language tells a different story.

Luann writes:

"I’m so glad that the girls are back on the Lu-wagon and off the Countess bandwagon! My friendship with Carole is on the upswing and I’m in a good place with the rest of the ladies, even Ramona! During the first part of this episode, I was in Vail skiing with Tom and I didn’t see that Ramona was texting me until après ski. Tom, on the other hand, can text and ski, one of his many talents, so when Ramona reached out to him, he immediately responded that all was well. I had no problem with her texting him to see if I was OK and he was happy to fill her in on my whereabouts.

Every time we travel as a group, Ramona tries to get the best room and this trip to Mohegan Sun was no exception. I was impressed with Bethenny’s yoga headstand in the restaurant. What a showoff! Apparently, her body is as strong as her personality. We also learned that Dorinda was a pretty fierce aerobics step instructor in the past! Is there anything Dorinda can’t do?

Sonja is fixated on Tom and while she says she’s not jealous, she keeps bringing up her past with him even though we are engaged. She says she’s happy for me, but her body language and facial expressions tell a different story. I know that it’s hard to watch someone move forward while being stuck in the past but Sonja has to realize that my relationship with Tom is very special and that he may not have been the marrying type before meeting me, but he is now! When you meet the right person, this is what happens.

Ramona was very sweet to offer to throw me an engagement party, but I was glad that Dorinda was the one who ultimately planned the celebration dinner at The Black Barn, because she introduced me to Tom. The dinner was so much fun and it was a toast, not a roast, like so many Housewives gatherings. Carole said that I’m better with a man than without, but I believe that Tom and I complete each other, and I do like being in long-lasting relationships. I loved the crystal heart Carole gave me, and I’m so glad that we are in a good place.

I shared with the girls how Tom proposed. He had the ring in his pocket and he was so excited to propose, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of fireplace with a bottle of champagne. It was a magical moment! He chose a stunning eight-carat canary diamond, and I couldn’t be happier to have found my match. Sonja’s critique of my ring was tasteless, and it shows that she’s holding a grudge about my engagement regardless of how many times she says she isn’t. We will marry in Palm Beach over New Year’s, and I’ve been very busy planning our wedding. We will celebrate for an entire weekend with our family and friends, and our ceremony is going to be very traditional. I’m going to start this new chapter with Tom surrounded by the people I love in a place that I love. It doesn’t get any better than that and I’m truly blessed.

Until next week, kill everyone with kindness."
