Chyka Keebaugh Dishes On Her New Business And Weighs In On Lydia Schiavello And Pettifleur Berenger's Showdown!

Chyka Keebaugh is taking to her Arena Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. Chyka Keebaugh breaks down about the opening of her new business, The Glasshouse and shares her thoughts on Lydia Schiavello and Pettifleur Berenger's confrontation. Chyka writes:

"I cannot tell you how excited Bruce and I were that the opening of the Glasshouse had finally arrived. We have been working on this project for the last two years and to finally have our beautiful new events space ready to go was beyond amazing.

Like all things that are this big, there are last minute dramas with builders finishing off the last bits and pieces just before the guests arrived to our beautiful table centres that we had ordered that we kept being told were on their way only to find… They hadn’t actually been made.

The new blinds had a mind of their own and some of the peonies that we had as flowers on the tables hadn’t opened! Nothing like a bit of drama to get everyone going.

For our chefs it was the first time the ovens had been used, the first time the ice machines turned on and the staff were in new uniforms working out how the new style apron worked.

We had invited 450 of our clients both private and corporate so it was really important that the night ran smoothly. Bruce loves making sure that all the tables are just right and that all the guests will enjoy who they are with on the night. Let me tell you… Anyone who has planned a wedding knows what a big job it is, especially when at the last minute people cancel or change who they are bringing as a partner.

I feel really proud of the team we have at work who all understand what a big night this was – they made it smooth sailing and Bruce and I even had a chance to actually enjoy ourselves.

I of course wanted the girls to come and be a part of this special night. I think it’s really important to be there for a friend’s journey and although we can’t all be there all the time due to work, life etc, I was really happy that they could all come.

Being the hostess for the night meant it was impossible for me to be with the girls but I loved seeing them all in the foyer looking gorgeous and glamorous.

Lydia and I haven’t yet had a chance to catch up as we had only come home from Dubai 2 days before. I know we will have a chance to talk but our opening was not the time or the place for this. I knew that Lydia would have felt the same way and I really hoped that everyone could just enjoy the night and each other’s company.

I really had no idea of what went down with Pettifleur and Lydia until I saw it on screen. I was shocked that it had reached the point it had and really hadn’t known there was a problem there!

The entertainment was amazing and Bruce made an incredible speech! The fireworks lit up the Melbourne Sky and The Glasshouse was officially open.

At the end of the night when there was about 20 of our friends left – I kicked off my heels and turned to Bruce and said… That wasn’t so bad! Let’s do another one! Watch this space!
