Bethenny Frankel Opens Up About Keeping Her Daughter Bryne Out Of Divorce Proceedings: “It Has Been By Far The Most Difficult Thing I've Ever Been Through”

Bethenny Frankel has faced many challenges since her split from her husband Jason Hoppy, from spousal custody battle to her on-going divorce trail. Now, the Real Housewives of New York City star is opening up about her split from soon-to-be ex-husband and how it's affected the couple's daughter.

Frankel and Hoppy, both 45, announced their split in December 2012 after three years of marriage – and Frankel says their lengthy divorce proceedings are nearing the finish line.

"I feel like I'm on the 18th hole of the golf round now. I feel like we're here," Frankel told People.

"I feel like justice is being served. It's being handled the way it should be. It's gone on way too long," said Frankel of the divorce. "I feel like I survived something. When it all shakes down, I'll be a woman who has not kind of just felt backed into a corner. I stayed strong and I did what was best for myself, my daughter, for women."

Frankel said that shielding her daughter from what was going on was important to her.

"I think kids need stability and to feel calm and proud of their home," said Frankel. "She's an amazing, amazing little girl. She's so happy. She's not really aware of what's going on, which is great. I'm proud of that. It has been by far the most difficult thing I've ever been though."

Last month, a court ruled that Frankel no longer had to pay Hoppy $12,000 a month in temporary maintenance, which is support a higher-earning spouse pays while a divorce case is pending.
