Ashley Darby On Karen Huger: “I Think There Is A Lot We Can Both Learn From Each Other”

In a recent interview with Bravo, Ashley Darby talks about this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Ashley Darby weighs in on her confrontation with Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger regarding their comments about her husband Michael. Check it out below!

Bravotv.com: Tell us about confronting Gizelle on calling your husband “creepy” and Karen telling Michael not to come for her.
Ashley Darby: Watching Gizelle talk about my soul mate like he was a trick at a peep show was nauseating. My marriage is very special to me and those types of comments will bring out my ratchet side. The worst part of the situation was how she tried to backtrack on her comments - I guess watching yourself act like a buffoon on TV will cause a change of heart. Karen doesn't like being called out on her sh--, which is exactly what Michael did. She can't expect to talk smack about Michael in her interviews and not have Michael address them. Perhaps she should've better prepared Ray to fight for her honor.

Bravotv.com: What was it like confronting the “grand dame” on her ejaculation comments?
AD: It was so necessary! I was hungover at the "Come to Jesus" lunch, so I was more worried about keeping down my salmon than addressing Karen's heinous comments. This time, I was dripping in sequins and ready to duke it out like a glittered Mike Tyson. In the end it was rather anticlimactic though, because there's no rationalizing with delusion. I will say that even though Karen has a few decades on me, I think there is a lot we can both learn from each other. The next lesson will be how to have healthy discussions like educated adults.

Bravotv.com: Tell us about rehashing the squeezing the butt moment and Gizelle’s comments on Michael’s sexuality?
AD: After watching the incident back on TV, I was even angrier about Robyn and Gizelle's comments. I never want my husband to change his liberal and fun-loving nature, and especially not because of these close-minded women who tried to frame him in a bad light. I sincerely hope, however, that this discussion was educational for Robyn and Gizelle. They have been conditioned to live in a restrictive box which limits how they view social interactions. Michael and I were happy to be an education lesson for them.

Bravotv.com: If there’s anything you can go back and do differently, what would it be and why?
AD: There's absolutely nothing I would do differently, because watching myself on TV was very educational. I gained even more confidence in myself and my ability to stand up for what I believe in. Meeting the headstrong and opinionated ladies of Potomac has helped me to find my voice, even louder and more pronounced. Great things are in store for this gal, I can feel it!
