Karen Huger: “Opening Up About My Mother’s Condition During This Time Was Truly Uplifting”

In a recent interview with Bravo, Karen Huger talks about this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Karen Huger assesses Ashley Darby’s hostess skills and reminds Gizelle Bryant why she shouldn’t throw shade at the grand dame of Potomac. Check it out below!

Bravotv.com: Why did you offer to help Ashley Darby? What do you think of  skills this weekend (so far)?

Karen Huger: Ashley really wanted the beach trip she was planning for the girls to be a big success. I wanted this for her as well. Hence, I offered to  help her. As it turned out  Ashley didn’t  need much help from me at all. What Ashley really needed was moral support. Once we got to the beach house she shared that she was personally making refreshing cocktails for the girls to enjoy upon their arrival, she hired a chef to prepare dinner and she thoughtfully assigned each girl their roommates based upon relationships with printed name tags to boot! Ashley’s hosting skills are on point, AT this point.

Bravotv.com: What do you think about the other ladies’ reactions to the accommodations?

KH: Honestly, we all were having a fantastic time until the reveal of the room accommodations. I thought both Gizelle Bryant and Charrisse Jackson Jordan were kidding with their childish display of disappointment and disapproval. I was wrong!

Bravotv.com: What is your reaction to Gizelle saying you would make a fuss if it was your twin bed?

KH: First of all my girl Gizelle has not been able to pronounce my name right for quite sometime now - BTW Gizelle, it’s KAREN. Now she wants to speak for me. It’s no surprise that her OPINION about how I would respond if I had been assigned a twin bed is just that, her opinion. I believe Gizelle finally came to her senses and realized that she was acting like a child whose candy just got stolen and made a poor attempt to deflect by casting shade my way. I’ve always said you were S-P-E-C-I-A-L “Gizzy,” you got this one, girl. TAKE A BOW!

Bravotv.com: Tell us about opening up about your mother.

KH: I loved the sister circle concept. Opening up about my Mother’s condition during this time was truly uplifting.  At the end of the day, we’re friends and knowing that I can lean on them for support in a time of need is priceless.
