Riaola was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer in early January. Weeks later, doctors said the chemotherapy wasn't working. She appeared on "The Dr. Oz" show a week before she passed away and talked about the struggles she faces while battling cancer.

A day before her death there were false reports that she had passed away. A family member was forced to put out a statement that she was still alive. A few hours later, though, family friend Vinnie Medugno posted on Raiola's Twitter that she sadly passed away at 3:01 a.m.

Family and friends attended her funeral at the Basilica of Regina Pacis in Brooklyn on Feb. 22. She was later laid to rest in Staten Island.
