According to a new report, Real Housewives of New York City star Sonja Morgan is looking to expand her business and brand. A source close to Morgan tells NY Daily News' Confidenti@l that the Bravo reality star is scouting Upper East Side locations in the hopes of opening a restaurant called Tipsy.
“She is opening a restaurant and hiring a producer and filmmaker to try to make a show based on it, just like Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump,” says the insider. “It’s just that Lisa actually had a successful restaurant first, before Bravo came calling with a show.”
Morgan is also researching decor and what kind of menu she wants, adds our source.
We hear that Morgan is sticking with a shortened version of her “Tipsy Girl” name, which she was planning to use to launch a liquor line. Her plans were foiled, however, when fellow “RHONY” Bethenny Frankel filed court documents to block Morgan from using the name, saying it was too similar to Frankel’s “Skinnygirl” franchise. Now, Frankel and Morgan have a strained relationship in real life because of Morgan’s “Tipsygirl” dreams.
“She (Sonja) wants it to be “Tipsy,” because she wants a younger, hipper version of Pump, a pretty garden restaurant in West Hollywood owned by Vanderpump as seen on Vanderpump’s restaurant SUR is the subject of the hit Bravo series “Vanderpump Rules.”
