The first time the network took a trip in the D.C. area was back in 2010 when Bravo aired The Real Housewives of D.C. The show only lasted one season due to much controversial white house crashing (allegedly!). Now, former RHODC stars are sharing their thoughts on the upcoming Bravo reality series.
Mary Amons says she did a little research when she heard Bravo was back in D.C. to shoot for another show.
“What I could find out, the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ was actually the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac Mills,’ Amons told 94.7 Fresh FM's The Tommy Show. “It was documenting the lives of these African-American hair stylists in Potomac Mills!”
Amons didn’t hold back when asked about the real reasons RHODC was cancelled.
“Frankly, I think the show was cancelled because Bravo was implicated,” Amons says. “I mean, I think there was just so much behind the scene money-wise that [Bravo] just kind of threw the whole thing under the bus.”
Then, Amons took to social media to wish the new ladies of Potomac the best of luck!
@maryamons @Bravotv @Andy should have done a #rhodc season 2 with you, Cat, Linda, and two new women

Agreed! It's the overall consensus that we should have been given another season. I wish these new ladies the best! https://t.co/vS0lgr5OqQ

Meanwhile, Lynda Erkiletian opened up about her experience on RHODC during a radio interview on 94.7 Fresh FM's The Tommy Show. The fashionista said she was grateful being part of the RHODC cast and for the opportunity.
“I enjoyed it! I was actually having a good time most of the time and I got to know several of the cast members a lot better, so I was developing friendships, I was learning who not to hang out with – and I think y’all know what I’m talking about,” Erkiletian says. “It was very very interesting and I will always feel that I got my PhD in reality television through ‘Housewives of DC’and for that, I am grateful.”
And when asked if she was invited to Tareq Salahi’s upcoming wedding – she said her invitation must have gotten lost in the mail.
Then, Erkiletian took to her social medial and gave the #RHOP ladies a shout out.
Welcome #RHOP let the fun begin!

As for Cat Ommanney, the former RHODC star gave us CAT-I-TUDE with her snarky sense of humor that we all love and appreciate. The mother-of-three shared her thoughts on the announcement via her social media page.
@Andy reeeeaaallly? #RHOP "if you don't behave here you will be asked to leave". No wonder you didn't ask me 🚬🍸💃

@hello_gregory Chevy chase wasn't so bad in the end. ❤️ @Andy should have given us #RHODC a second chance minus #salami and 2new chicks.

I will always love, miss, support and appreciate The Real Housewives of DC. It's a bummer that Bravo didn't renewed the series but like I always say, once a housewife, always a housewife. That season was simply amazing IMO, thank God I own the season and I get to watch it whenever I want (all thanks to iTunes).
The Real Housewives of Potomac premieres on Sunday, Jan 17 at 9/8c on Bravo!
