Dahll was convicted of 17 counts of loan fraud in connection with a holiday cabin property located in southern Norway last month. However, speaking from his Marbella home, he said it was "unlikely" he would serve any jail time despite being handed a sentence of two years and eight months.
"My lawyers are still working to resolve this, Dahl tells The Herald. "What has been written has been wildly exaggerated. It is unlikely that I will serve any time [in jail]," he said.
Despite his legal troubles he said "everything in my life is normal". "That's all I want to say other than I love Virginia," he said.
"She is a great woman who has given me her unwavering support throughout this ordeal which is a lot more complicated than has been reported in the Irish media," he added.
The Dublin Wives star met Dahl in 2009 and the pair became engaged in 2012. They have one son, Thor, who is two years old.
Now living in glamorous Marbella, the couple jet home to Dublin often and are already planning their next trip to the capital for next month.
Virginia, who is best known for TV shows Dublin Wives and Celebrity Salon, has stood by her other half during the controversy. In November, she echoed his confidence that he would spend no time behind bars.
"Kas's subjective guilt is still to be determined. I know he 100% won't be going to prison. He was charged with giving the wrong info to the bank," she sad at the time. "He has regrets. I know he has a past and I certainly do not condone criminal activity," she said.
