Sentencing Delayed For Joe Giudice In DMV Fraud Case

Teresa Giuduce's husband, Joe Giudice was scheduled to lose his driver's license this week after earlier pleading guilty in a Passaic County fraud case, but Giudice will be able to drive for a few more weeks because his sentencing has been delayed.

The sentencing has been postponed due to a medical issue with one of the attorneys involved. Giudice cut a plea deal with Passaic County prosecutors in October that spared him further jail time. But Giudice will lose his license for up to two years at the sentencing. Judge Adam E. Jacobs will determine the exact amount -- and pay a fine under the state deal, reports reports nj.com.

Joe, who is already awaiting his 41-month sentence for federal fraud, agreed to an 18-month jail term to be served concurrently with his federal sentence. He also faces a license suspension of at least six months.

The sentencing has not yet been rescheduled but the judge’s staff said it likely would be set in a few weeks.

Giudice was accused of using his brother's identification to obtain a license after his own was suspended due to a DUI in 2010. The site also reports that he has a storied history with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, including at least 47 suspensions since first obtaining his license in 1987, but his license is not currently suspended.
