Sonja Morgan Launches Her New Clothing Line At New York Fashion Week!

A few months ago, it was reported that Sonja Morgan was launching her own clothing Sonja Morgan New York Brands. This week, the Real Housewives of New York City star debuted looks from her collection during an exclusive showcase.

"Every woman deserves luxury. That’s why I designed my collection paying the utmost attention to details, offering long lasting value at affordable prices," she said about the brand, which premiered during Fashion Week.

“I focused on the items that are essential to a Women's wardrobe: a perfect fitting jacket, a straight leg pant, the effortless cocktail dress, all with design details that really stand out," she added.

From the looks of it, the line is an extension of Sonja and she describes the brand's philosophy as "everyday luxury."

“I believe in luxury that is wearable, I love being able to throw a dress and a few jewelry pieces in a suitcase and still look put together without the worry," she said.

The fierce fashionista first announced the project back in December. Between her education at FIT, her past working in retail as well as her role as a working mother, she drew on her personal experiences to define the brand.

"I went to FIT for marketing and I already worked in wholesale...I've done it," she said. "I think when a woman finds herself divorced and putting the kid through school and she's talking about college, I'm like, 'Where am I gonna pay for all this?'"

Of course, back in January Sonja also dished a bit about her style philosophy when she launched her podcast.

What makes her must-haves list? Accessories, monograms, bargains and smokey eye. "It saved my life," she said recalling her days of working in retail and using her look to help sell. "Being a marketing person I said give them what they want use the medium, so there I was I was in bling from foot to head. I was in a tiara. I didn't know if I was Hello Dolly or Barbra Streisand... For some reason if you just do the eye, it takes the attention away from everything else straight to the eye."
