Real Housewives Of Vancouver Star Jody Claman Ordered To Pay Ex-Husband $600K In Divorce Settlement By Mid-January!

This has not been a great year for Jody Claman. Earlier this week, B.C.'s Supreme Court ruled that the former Real Housewives of Vancouver star must pay her ex-husband, Eran Friedlander a whopping $600,000 by mid January.

Judge Miriam Gropper denied Jody's request for an extension, arguing the TV personality has had more than enough time to raise the appropriate funds, reports ET Canada.

“I can’t get that kind of money by then,” a distraught Jody told reporters outside the courthouse. “All my properties have been mortgaged and I have bad credit.”

Should the payment not be made in full by January 15, the court will allow Jody's ex, mining executive Eran Friedlander, to sell three of the family's properties.

Claman’s lawyer on Friday had asked the court to exclude from the equalization payment the value of a number of items Friedlander told court Claman had of his, including: a $20,000 ostrich sofa, $87,000 wine cellar, two $10,000 antique credenzas, a silver glass and plate, a Shabbat (Jewish sabbath) cup and plate, some antique copper items and two $1,000 mirrors, reports The Province.

But Friedlander's lawyer told court and the judge agreed that the questioning of the inclusion of these items from the excluded household effects worth $110,000 should have been done during the trial.

Claman also denied having a number of items that Friedlander wanted returned to him: some designer clothing items, including a Dior sleeveless jacket and a Prada suit, his snowboard, two bicycles, diving gear and a fountain.

She said he can have the artwork he claimed was his, including a painting called the Nude, another called the Waiting and Frank Palmer’s Indian Head.

“She’s agreed to give those to him but she requests the value be discounted from the equalization payment,” said her lawyer.

During the trial, Gropper ruled that she preferred Friedlander’s evidence over Claman’s because she found Claman was inconsistent and lacked credibility.

To make matters worse for Jody, Aran will request the court have her cover his legal costs, which could total an additional $300,000.

Jody’s ex-husband originally filed for divorce back in September of 2013, and their divorce was finalized on October 10th of this year.

It's reported that Claman plans to appeal the divorce ruling.
