Jackie Gillies Dishes On Her Psychic Abilities, Philanthropy Work And Real Housewives Of Melbourne!

Psychic, La Mascara cocktail founder and star of The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Jackie Gillies recently sat down with WA Today to dish on all things #RHOMelbourne, her psychic abilities and about her most her recent philanthropy event, which is the E.J. Whitten Charity Poker Event. Check it out below!

NOW THAT YOU’RE A MELBURNIAN, WHAT STANDS OUT?

Jackie: Definitely the restaurants and bars. There’s that Eurovibe – there’s always something new to try. Vue de Monde outweighs any restaurant and I always keep going back to Morris Jones for a drink.

WITH LA MASCARA, WILL THERE BE A “SHINE, SHINE, SHINE”  OR “MY HUSBAND IS A ROCK STAR” DRINKING GAME FOR EVERY TIME YOU SAY THAT ON REAL HOUSEWIVES OF MELBOURNE?

Jackie: Can I be honest? I said that thing about my husband being a rock star twice in that whole series, but the way they’ve edited it, it looks like I said it a million times.

RHOM JUST STARTED IN THE US. AMERICAN TWEETERS LOVE IT WHEN YOU CALL YOURSELF SEXY AND BEAUTIFUL. YET I’VE HEARD YOU CREDIT PROFESSIONAL HAIR AND MAKEUP SESSIONS FOR YOUR LOOK. WHICH IS IT?

Jackie: I take the piss out of myself a lot. When I look at myself in the mirror, I tell myself, ''Jackie, you’re a beautiful person''. I tell myself to help others and be positive.

WHAT WAS THE ATTITUDE OF HAVING A PSYCHIC AROUND WHEN YOU WORKED IN THE WORLD OF CORPORATE BANKING?

Jackie: I was from Newcastle, one of the youngest girls, and I’d be counting half a million dollars plus. I honestly think the universe was getting me prepared for the types of people I would meet, because I come from a very sheltered, quite strict background. I didn’t know the extent to which I was psychic. I used to get these vibes and think they were just my thoughts.

HAVE YOU EVER USED YOUR PSYCHIC ABILITY TO WIN AT POKER?

Jackie: I don’t want to use my awareness for gambling or lotto numbers. I get a block. If you do that, you’re telling the universe that you’re not worthy of other abundance.

WHY THE E.J. WHITTEN FOUNDATION, WHICH RAISES FUNDS FOR PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH AND AWARENESS?

Jackie: My grandfather had prostate cancer, and often men are very embarrassed to go to their doctors. I’m encouraging women to nag our family friends and members to do so.

Jackie Gillies is an ambassador for the E.J. Whitten Charity Poker Event on Thursday September 4. Tickets are available at ejwhittenpoker.com.au
