I recently had the opportunity to interview Shereè Whitfield! Shereè was one of the original cast members of Bravos’ successful show The Real Housewives of Atlanta. After being with RHOA for 4 seasons, she decided to pull the plug to focus on her family and other business ventures. So what has Shereè been up too since her time on RHOA? Well… Shereè is now focusing on her jewelry line that she recently released called “She by Shereè”. Shereè talks to us about her new jewelry line, upcoming projects, RHOA, Kim Zolciak’s exit and much more exclusively to iRealHousewives.
iRH: Hi Shereè! What are some of your favorite and least favorite moments on RHOA and why?
SW: OMG, there were really quite a few! It really was an
enjoyable time for me for the most part.
iRH: What are your thoughts on the new season and the new wives?
SW: You know, I actually haven’t had a chance to see it yet.
With my jewelry launch (shebysheree.kitsylane.com) and other projects, I have just
been so busy... I’m hearing all the talks though and it sound like an
interesting season.
iRH: What are your thoughts on Kim Zolciak quitting the show?
SW: Everyone reaches a point where they need a change. This seems to be one for her. I wish her all the luck and hope she is happy with the decision to move on... It was a good move for me. I hope this is a good one for her.
iRH: Do you keep in touch with any of your former co-stars?
SW: Honestly, I have been super busy with projects and I'm
really still playing catch up with my family and immediate friends because it
took so much of my time.
iRH: What was the hardest part of being in a reality TV show?
SW: The cameras being on especially when I was going through
so many personal things in my life – and my kids. It was hard to never really
have a real down moment to just relax and deal with what was going on
personally.
iRH: Overall how would you describe your experience on the Real Housewives?
SW: Overall, it was an amazing experience. It brought me
into millions of households and gave me an opportunity to connect to a lot of
people and have a positive impact on those who either were able to relate to me
or relate to some of the personal issues I was dealing with in my life. Nothing
is more rewarding than hearing and receiving all of the positive emails and the
support from people that say I was a positive influence on them or I helped
them get through whatever issue they were dealing with. That kind of stuff
supersedes any of the negativity.
Also, being on the show was a great platform to build my
brand, She by Shereè and to create a strong loyal following.
iRH: How has life been for you after RHOA?
SW: Busy. Happy. Positive. Fulfilling. I’ve really been
spending a lot of time focusing on my new career moves, including the launch of
my new jewelry line two weeks ago. One of the things I really liked about
Housewives was being able to connect with women across the country and working
with so many strong, vibrant and individual women. I love bringing out
individuality in women in what I do. I wanted to keep doing that...so that’s
where I’ve been focusing my career moves. Working to inspire women and help
women to be stylish and healthy.
iRH: Will we ever see you back in reality TV or a movie in the future?
SW: As for reality TV, I can see it happening possibly, but
definitely in a different setting. I’m in a different place in my life now so
it would have to be something positive and happy. As for movies, hmmmm who
knows. :)
iRH: One of your most popular quotes was “Who’s Gon’ Check Me Boo?” which lead you to release a song on iTunes. How did that come about?
SW: Well, you all saw that incredibly intense scene with the
party planner! That’s where the quote originated and since then, I’ve heard it
in songs, on Twitter, on the streets. I probably hear it at least a couple
times a day. People really loved it and still use it in everyday situations. I
actually almost had a "Who Gon’ Check me Boo" moment last week!!!
iRH: Can you give us an update on how Chateau Shereè is coming along?
SW: It’s great! It’s a long process but things are coming
together nicely.
iRH: I know your working on a jewelry line called She by Shereè. Can you tell us more about it?
SW: The line itself was designed as chic, feminine pieces that sparkle in gold and crystal. The colors are bold and intense with exaggerated geometric shapes and simple crystals to create dramatic, wearable pieces. I wanted the line to be versatile so women can wear the pieces for day or night. I drew my inspiration for my new jewelry line from women who inspire me. I really had a specific type of woman in mind when creating The She by Shereè Collection. A woman who is active and fashionable, family oriented, cares about her health and yet does it all with a budget in mind...I love to interact with this woman. "She" is my inspiration. She wants it ALL and does it ALL.

iRH: I noticed the prices for the jewelry line is very economical friendly which is good for the fans, especially in this economy. Was that always the plan?
SW: Yes. It was important to me to keep the pieces
affordable yet still very stylish. So far, I’ve gotten a great response. People
seem to really like the collection and that’s pretty inspiring. Prices range
from $30-$75.
iRH: Are there any plans of doing a new fashion clothing line of She by Shereè in the future?
SW: I launched my jewelry line two weeks ago and will be
evolving this to include clothing with a mix of my other passion…fitness. I
would like to expand into home décor, handbags, and more…I’m thinking big…a
brand!
iRH: I know you said you were going to release a fitness work out DVD. Is that still the plan?
SW: Yes, health and fitness is what I love. I want to
inspire and motivate women to live better and be better. It’s still in the
works so more to come on that in the New Year.
iRH: What are some of your favorite fashion designers?
SW: I'm such a dress girl. Right now I'm loving Roland
Mouret, Victoria Beckham and Antonio Berardi. They all have a sickening fit on
their dresses!
iRH: Do you have any upcoming projects that you can tell us?
SW: 2013 will be an awesome year! I'm excited to be working
on a new collection for my She by Shereè jewelry line. I have a few wonderful
projects I will be focusing on that I feel really strongly about. I will
definitely keep you guys updated.
iRH: Anything you would like to say to your fans?
SW: Thanks for staying with me and being so loyal. I really
do appreciate your support and I love you guys!
iRH: Thank you Shereè for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview!
SW: Thank you so much and I soooooooo appreciate your
continued support Carlos. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
