iRealHousewives Exclusive Interview with Dr. Karent Sierra

I recently had the opportunity of interviewing Dr. Karent Sierra. Karent made her debut on the 2nd season of The Real Housewives of Miami. Karent is a successful dentist in which it has earned her the title of “The dentist to the stars”. Karent is proud of her Columbian heritage and while shes's juggling being a dentist and a Real Housewife, she is also a model, actress doing various commercials and infomercials in Latin TV. In my exclusive interview with Dr. Karent Sierra she talks about her career, goals, RHOM drama, charities, friendships and she also talks about her former boyfriend, Rodolfo Jimenez and much more in this exclusive interview with iRealHousewives.

iRH: How are you doing?

DKS: I am great thank you! It’s the holiday season and I couldn’t feel more blessed!

iRH: Did you always know you wanted to be a dentist at a young age?

DKS: I always gravitated toward people and wanting to see them happy. My two older sisters are dentists and so I was drawn to the profession.

iRH: How does it feel to be labeled as “The Dentist to the Stars”?

DKS: I am appreciative of that reference. I know my publicist starting using it once I had some great celebrity clients. I am fortunate.

iRH: How were you approached to join RHOM?

DKS: I knew some of the ladies socially. When they were casting for the show my publicist Liza Santana of Creativas approached me and she pitched me to the show. Apparently I was chosen! ;)

iRH: Did you have any hesitation of being on a reality show?

DKS: I did at first as I knew that my life would become an open book. But we discussed it as an opportunity to enhance my practice which then could help to push my Foundation, Sharing Smiles.

iRH: Why do you think some of the ladies formed such negative opinions towards you?

DKS: When people don’t understand you, or are different they sadly choose to label you and many times dislike you instead of taking the time to get to know you.

iRH: Who do you keep in touch outside of the show?

DKS: Lisa Hochstein and Joanna Krupa although I see the other ladies socially.

iRH: Do you think you would ever become friends with Alexia, Ana, Adriana or Marysol in the future?

DKS: I am a person who doesn’t have any hate or evil in my heart. I am very open and very forgiving. So in short, I wouldn’t say no. I don’t know what the future holds.

iRH: I know your relationship with Rodolfo has ended. Did you think being on the show affected your relationship in any way?

DKS: The distance is what affected us. It is what it is. Life isn’t always a fairy tale. I was with him and so at one point [he] is what I wanted. That is over and I wish him the very best. I really do. TV is unfair as it’s easy for people to be drawn or to hate a character. I feel badly that he got so much heat. He’s not a terrible person. It just didn’t work out.

iRH: Do you still keep in touch with Rodolfo?

DKS: Yes, why wouldn’t I? I have nothing against him at this point.

iRH: What was your favorite and least favorite scene on the show so far?

DKS: Bimini. I try to be kind and caring. Being the center of an ambush isn’t fun. Plus my Dad’s health was on the line.

iRH: Being Latino myself I must say it’s nice to see a strong, independent and successful Latina on The Real Housewives franchise. How has the Latino community reacted towards you since your appearance on the show?

DKS: It’s been great! I have had an outpour of support and I am so grateful!!!! I am very proud to be representing! Latina and proud!

iRH: What has been the best advice your parents have ever given you?

DKS: To be honest and kind and never give up on my dreams.

iRH: What's the biggest misconception that people have about you?

DKS: That I am“fake”, in both physical and manner. I smile when I am happy, and even when I am nervous. It’s my way to deal. Isnt it better than sending people to go fly a kite half the time? I also get asked all the time about my hair believe it or not. It’s mine! No extensions! (laughs).

iRH: How much has your life changed since being on RHOM?

DKS: It’s very different. People recognize me now from the show and it’s a nice thing.

iRH: Overall how would you describe your experience on RHOM?

DKS: A learning experience for which I am grateful for. I now have thicker skin!

iRH: If you could describe the RHOM reunion in 3 words, which words would you use?

DKS: Intense, drama, boot camp!

iRH: What’s new for you Karent? Any upcoming projects you can tell us?

DKS: Lots, stay tuned….

iRH: Anything you would like to say to your fans?

DKS: I would like to thank them for taking the time to watch the show, read my blogs, and embrace me. I am more appreciative than words can say!
