iRealHousewives Exclusive Interview with Kenneth John from "Big Ang" Show

iRH: Hi Kenneth, Welcome to iRealHousewives. How are you?

KJ: Thank you! I’m great. It’s a very exciting time for me and everyone involved in the show. The premiere is finally here!

iRH: For those who don’t know much about you, tell us a brief summary about yourself?

KJ: I am 28 years old, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I have a degree in Psychology. This is my first reality TV opportunity. I’m a fun loving, no drama, no BS, AMAZING friend.

iRH: What made you agree to be part of Angela’s Spin off Show “Big Ang”?

KJ: The first reason I agreed to be on the show was because of my admiration of Big Ang. She deserves all the love and attention she is getting. I really adore her for her loveable personality and selflessness, especially geared towards the gay community. I can only hope that by being a part of her life, I can have the same effect on our community and be an advocate for gay issues.

iRH: How do you know Angela (Big Ang)?

KJ: My father knows Angela for many years. Once I started to hang out with her on my own, I could finally understand why everyone spoke so highly of her. The gay community is a big part in her success and I was asked to be a representative of the lifestyle since she has so much support from us.

iRH: What can we expect from the show?

KJ: It’s always a good time when you hang out with Big Ang and her friends! Endless drinks, laughs, smiles, and FUN! You will see her daily life and relationships she encounters. Whether it is hard times or drunk nights, Big Ang always comes out on top

iRH: Was it weird having cameras following you around?

KJ: I was skeptical about the cameras being around all the time, but after a while it became second nature; especially when you forget they are there after lots of drinks. J I didn’t mind it at all.

iRH: How different is the “Big Ang” Show from “Mob Wives”?

KJ: The “Big Ang” Show is all about good times and living life to the fullest. It will make you laugh and enjoy Angela from the same light we all loved her in “Mob Wives.” There’s definitely less drama than “Mob Wives”, but it’s worth some of the craziness that goes down. Shh!

iRH: Do you know any of the Mob Wives ladies besides Big Ang?

KJ: I’ve met Renee a few times and I absolutely adore Drita and Carla. I did not have the opportunity to get to know them off camera, as I hope I will eventually. I have “Mob Wives: Chicago” on my DVR, but I have yet to check it out.

iRH: What makes "Big Ang" show different from other reality shows?

KJ: I feel like this show is going to be more about laughing and enjoying Angela’s life. It’s what you have seen of Big Ang on “Mob Wives” plus a lot more!! Most reality shows are based on fighting and drama to keep ratings. This show doesn’t need that to be a hit. Everyone loves Big Ang

iRH: Big Ang is like a second mother to you, what has been the best advice she has ever given you?

KJ: She always reminds me to live life to the fullest and enjoy every second of every day. Life is too short to stress over people who continuously disappoint you. Out with the old and in with the new

iRH: What type of music do you like?

KJ: I love all types of music. My iPod has everything from old school club music remixes to 70s hits. Nothing beats the club music of the 90’s and early 2000’s though.

iRH: What other reality shows do you like to watch?

KJ: I’m a huge TV junkie. My Tivo has over 100 season passes! I must say my favorite reality show of all time is “Big Brother.” I’ve watched religiously since Season One.

iRH: What’s your biggest fear of becoming a reality TV star?

KJ: The haters. I consider myself to be a real and genuine person, and I’m sure MANY people can agree, but there always seems to be someone saying something in the background and I have to learn to move on from focusing on negativity.

iRH: How would you describe your experience filming a reality show?

KJ: It was amazing; every aspect of it. I don’t think it’s for everyone! I am in a few episodes so I didn’t have a camera around me ALL of the time, but I can imagine it could be somewhat draining after a while. Knowing your every word and action is caught on film forever and ever. I would do it again in a heartbeat

iRH: What does your family and friends feel about you joining the show?

KJ: In general, I’ve received a positive response. Friends and family think it suits me because of my crazy personality. Some are skeptical because of how things might be edited. I’m comfortable with it and that’s all that matters.

iRH: Since your openly gay (like myself), do you feel you will represent the LGBT Community in a positive way?

KJ: I really hope so. A huge reason why I joined this experience was to be an active member in the community and I really hope this will open more doors for me to raise money for gay issues and serve all aspects of the LGBT community.

iRH: Any plans to do more reality shows? Or perhaps acting in the future?

KJ: If given the opportunity, I would love to do more reality show work. I don’t think I’d be a great actor lol, but if the show gets picked up ::fingers crossed:: and enough people shout me out and request more of me, I’ll be back!

iRH: Do you support any charities, if so which ones?

KJ: I’ve donated to many charities within the LGBT community: GLSEN, Gay Men’s Health Crisis, Meals on Wheels, and LAMBDA Legal.

iRH: What’s next for you?

KJ: I currently work a full time job that I am extremely proud of. I possibly want to get back into school for my Master’s Degree. Let’s see where this road takes me. Keeping an open mind and praying for the best.

iRH: Anything you would like to say to your fans?

KJ: I would love to thank all of those who added me on Facebook and Twitter, especially some of you who tweet me daily. I hope once this show is on, I will continue to be loved and supported! A HUGE shout out to my family and friends who have been there since day one

iRH: Thank you Kenneth for allowing me to interview in such short notice.

KJ: Thank you for this opportunity. It’s been a pleasure. God Bless. All my best!
