‘The Real Housewives Of Melbourne’ May Not Return For A Sixth Season, Insider Says!

According to a new report via The Daily Mail, The Real Housewives of Melbourne may be getting axed after five seasons.

When asked during the Logies ceremony last Sunday whether the show would return, an alleged source told the Herlad Sun, "No, those girls f***ed it up."

The insider is referring to the last season's new additions Anjali Rao, Cherry Dipietrantonio, Kyla Kirkpatrick, and Simone Elliott. The series faced backlash and criticism as viewers didn't resonate with the new girls. Fans of the show also called out production for not bringing fan favorites like Gina Liano, Lydia Schiavello, and Pettifleur Berenger

However, there's some speculation that if the series does not return to Foxtel. it could find a home on another network or streaming service.

The news comes after longtime canst member Gamble Breaux opened up recently about the future of the popular hit reality show.

Breaux indicated that a sixth season had yet to be confirmed, but revealed she would like to see some of the fan favorites to come back.

"I'd love to do a new season with Lydia [Schiavello], Gina [Liano], Janet [Roach], Pettifleur [Berenger], Chyka [Keebaugh], Jackie [Gillies],' she told the Herald Sun.

She added that she wants to see season five newcomer Simone Elliott return, along with Simone's sister but she admitted that she isn't too keen to see the show's other newbies back, which includes Kyla Kirkpatrick and Anjali Rao.

When asked about Anjali, Gamble responded: "Who?"

The show did not film a reunion show for Season 5 for the first time in series history, leaving fans upset after the network confirmed the news.

If you recall, Gamble Breaux, Gina Liano, Lydia Schiavello, and Janet Roach were originally scheduled to return along with new cast members Anjali Rao, Cherry Dipietrantonio, and Kyla Kirkpatrick when Foxtel announced the Season 5 lineup in February 2020.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the series was put on hold for over a year. The NEW cast for Season 5 was revealed on April 15, 2021.

The new lineup consists of Breaux, Roach, Rao, Dipietrantonio, and Kirkpatrick. They were joined by new cast member Simone Elliott and in a shocking twist, original cast member Jackie Gillies returned to the series after originally quitting last year. In May 2021, Gillies confirmed that she's pregnant as she and her husband Ben are expecting twins after undergoing IVF. On October 17, 2021, she gave birth to two boys, Rocco Ivan and Bonham David.
