RHOMelbourne Season 5 Casting News — Find Out Who’s In And Who’s Out!

The Real Housewives of Melbourne is set to return in 2020 after a nearly two-year hiatus. Recent sources claimed that producers are searching to add new cast members to the series when the show returns next year for Season 5.

A report from The Herald Sun, which was reprinted by Media Week claimed that “none of the current crop of Housewives, Gamble Breaux, Lydia Schiavello, Janet Roach, Jackie Gillies, Gina Liano, Sally Bloomfield and Venus Behbahani, are guaranteed to be asked to return to the show.”

However, LALATE reports that in 2019 prior cast members including Gina Liano were offered contracts to return, which the ladies accepted. But the network did not tender those contracts in early 2019 because the show was now greenlighted to return.

The site claimed that typically these option contracts expire, and are often one year. LALATE reports that the publication's claim that no one has been “asked to return to the show” is untrue. Apparently, the cast were asked to return in early 2019- but those options may have expired. The same report claimed that the reality show is set to replace the cast with new hopefuls Dionnie Fahour, Felicia Leoncelli, Mandy Andrianakos, and Nadia Bartel.

A second report claims that Sally and Jackie have been let go, but the rest of the cast is returning, which LALATE cannot confirm nor deny that report.

The original cast members, who joined the series during the first season had locked a three-year contract. Later talent that joined the franchise had different contracts. The OGs’ contracts have since expired, which means they can negotiate new contract and salary.

The site claims that budgeting is a concern. Foxtel may want to slash the budget and let OGs who they want to replace with cheaper talent. For now, it is unlikely the entire cast has been fired, but highly likely that a lot could be let go, according to LALATE.
