Gina Kirschenheiter is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Gina Kirschenheiter shares her first impressions of Shannon Beador and Vicki Gunvalson.
BravoTV.com: How often does your mom get to visit?
Gina Kirschenheiter: My mom visits a lot. She has a hard time being away from her grandbabies. She’s comes at least four times a year I’d say. It’s super nice to have her here. She helps so much with the kiddos, and it’s the best feeling to leave them with grandma, because I don’t have mom guilt! Also, my mom and I have a ton of fun together and laugh and goof off a lot.
BravoTV.com: When your husband's new job took him to LA, why not move there with him?
GK: Anyone who has been through a major move knows how stressful it can be. We moved across the country less than three years ago and then moved again into our Coto home less than two years ago. We were in the middle of the school year when Matt transitioned into his new role. We made what we thought was the best decision for us as a family. This meant the kids finishing up school and Matt concentrating on killing it at his new position. Sometimes in life you have to do what’s not ideal but makes the most sense. We figured we would re-evaluate the situation come summer.
BravoTV.com: What were your first impressions of Shannon and Vicki?
GK: Shannon was pleasant enough. She talked a lot about what was going on in her life. I don’t really remember her asking me anything about my life.
Vicki was nice. She was asking questions about where I lived and my background a bit. When Kelly brought up the issue between herself and Vicki, it was certainly off-putting. But it didn’t make me form an opinion of her overall. I wouldn’t make determinations about who people are and if I will like them based off of one situation. Seems small minded and immature. It does seem like Vicki may have already made her mind up about me, though. Interesting...
BravoTV.com: Looking back, do you regret any of the things you said regarding Vicki breaking girl code?
GK: Not at all. I don’t feel I should have to regret showing up to a table of women and weighing in on a group discussion. If you don’t agree with my opinion, that’s totally fine, but I’m entitled to it. Since when is being an opinionated woman a bad thing?? I didn’t realize I was supposed to show up to this dinner in an apron and silently vacuum around their feet like a 1920s housewife. My bad. I’m raising my daughter to know her opinion matters. Her opinion is strength. Her opinion is power. If it was Vicki’s opinion that I should shut up and stay out of it, she should have told me right there at the table. I probably would have listened, and I certainly would have respected her more for telling me her opinion to my face. But hey, that’s just my opinion.
