Luann D’Agostino: “I Think That It’s Healthy To Be Friends With Exes”

Luann D’Agostino is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City. Luann D’Agostino talks about running into Tom's ex Missy at Ramona Singer's party.

Luann writes:

"This episode had me thinking about what makes a house a home with Tinsley still at Sonja's trying to figure out where in NYC she wants to live. She seems overwhelmed with having to decide on an apartment, but at least she’s trying. Ramona's very attached to her NYC apartment, and instead of moving after her divorce, she decided to renovate. Her apartment looks fabulous, regardless of how much she spent on her furniture. Carole prefers to live solo and is happy that Adam found his own pad. Bethenny is less sentimental about real estate and enjoys flipping her homes. Conversely, Dorinda is very attached to where she lives and plans to keep her Berkshires home forever. As for Tom and I, we’ve decided to keep our homes in NYC, the Hamptons and Palm Beach. As Sonja’s Edgar said, “We have a lot of gardens to take care of!” I also agree when he said the B’s should mind their own business when to it comes to relationships.

New York, especially the Upper East Side, is like a small town, and seeing old flames at parties is a regular occurrence. I met Missy briefly at the Regency, and it was nice to see her again at Ramona’s. She seemed genuinely happy for us, and I was glad to see that she refused to engage in gossip about Tom in spite of Harry’s instigation, which was a low-class move. As for Tom’s comment about his ring being like a dog collar, he was trying to be funny and nothing more. I think that it’s healthy to be friends with exes, and I have no problem with Tom being friends with women he used to date. I’m still close to my ex-husband and Tom doesn’t feel at all threatened by our friendship. I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship where I couldn’t be friends with whomever I choose, nor would Tom.

Until next week, when it comes to gardens, remember the grass is greenest where you water it the most."
