It's been nearly a week since Joe Giudice began his 41-month prison sentence and now his wife Teresa Giudice is opening up for the first time about the effects his absence has had on the family. In an exclusive statement to The Daily Dish, the Real Housewives of New Jersey thanks fans for their ongoing support and offers some insight into how Joe is doing since he reported for his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
"I just want to say thank you so much to all my fans out there. All your love and support means the world to me and my family. It has been a difficult week for us, but we're making it through, thank god. Joe's doing as well as expected. Of course we spoke to him," Teresa said. "And I just want to say thank you again from the bottom of my heart for being there, and for all your beautiful tweets. Love, love, love you from my family to yours."
Joe began his sentence on March 23. In 2014, he pled guilty to conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud charges. In addition to the 41 months in prison, he could face a possible deportation back to Italy in connection with those charges. Joe has previously said that he can be released as early as 18 months into his nearly four-year sentence if he takes part in some sentence reduction programs in prison.
